You Won’t Be Seeing Me Around: With a Slacker Rock Intro, combining laid back Bluesy-Guitar Licks and some subtle silvery synths, ‘You Won’t Be Seeing Me Around’ leaps into action. There’s a sound reminiscent of US Alternative Rock bands, such as Pavement, Sebadoh and The Brian Jonestown Massacre in the summery-haze of guitar and vocals than shimmer and inhabit this tune. However, an overtly more Psychedelic and otherworldly ambience unravels and asserts itself, riffing on Shoegaze, with flavours of perhaps a slightly more upbeat Slowdive. Production wise, the vocals remain back in the mix, acting both to create a sense of atmosphere, to showcase the musicianship and also to provide a heap of charm and character. The vocal melody meanders, rich and full of contrast and sophistication. There’s a pop-lilt in this melody, almost straying into the 60s, riffing on the Baroque-Pop of The Monkees and the 70s lounge meets Pop-Rock of (The) Alessi Brothers. Indeed, ‘You Won’t Be Seeing Me Around’ follows the traditional structure of a pop tune. There’s all the vocal and musical hooks that a listener would expect, a memorable guitar riff, a solid chorus, a singalong, evolving chorus. However, what makes ‘You Won’t Be Seeing Me Around’ so alluring, are the creative ideas inhabiting the song, blending otherworldly and experimental concepts and techniques with the familiar.⭐️
