Links in Music: Das Kapitans

🎼Links in music: Das Kapitans

Yesterday, on my Eardrum Buzz radio show one of the tracks I played was ‘Gobshite’ by English Alternative Rock/ Punk Band, Das Kapitans Das Kapitans combine a very British sound, sometimes having the air of classic English Indie from the 90s with Britpop bands such as Supergrass and 00s UK Alternative Rock bands including The Libertines. One band Das Kapitans really remind me of is English Indie band Blur. (specifically at times, that band’s guitarist Graham Coxon and his output as a solo artist) Also, there is the flavour of US Punk bands such as NOFX chucked into the mix. Although having a contemporary feel, Das Kapitans transport me back to a time in the 90s, when (like many other Alternative music fans) I was listening to a mixture of British Indie, US Alternative Rock and Punk from both sides of the Atlantic.

There’s a series of links below; The first takes you to ‘Gobshite’ from the recently released album ‘#2’ by Das Kapitans, available on Bandcamp. The second link gets you to the music video of ‘Freakin’ out’ by Graham Coxon. The third link gets you to the song ‘Linoleum’ by US Punk band, NOFX. The fourth links gets you to classic Blur track, ‘Bank Holiday’ where Indie met Punk somewhere in the 90s. The fifth and final link is to Eardrum Buzz Radio, where you can listen to an eclectic mix of DJs and Alternative tunes. If you missed my show, it’s repeated at 8pm GMT/ 12pm PST on January Weekdays.⭐️
